Students will learn the medium’s behavior on wet and dry paper and how to cause accidents without losing control, allowing the medium express itself and create images that are alive. The goal is to win trust and obtain definitive results in this technique. There will be daily lectures, demonstrations, exercises, and one-on-one guidance to find each student’s own style. Working from the model, students will be guided through a series of exercises, beginning with a series of quick gestural studies and progressing to longer paintings. A variety of topics about the figure, life drawing & painting, nudes & portraits. How to create flesh tones & shadows. Reserving white from the paper. All levels of experience are welcome!
