Art Student League instructor Timothy J. Clark’s watercolor painting, San Marco, currently hangs in the San Diego Museum of Art’s exhibition, Venetian Views, together with work by the great Venetian masters, Canaletto, Guardi and Bellotto.  Clark will discuss and demonstrate how the figure in Venetian art changed the course of art history from Bellini to Sargent to artists working today.  He will show you how to interpret and enjoy Venetian paintings through the centuries, and address how artists can use these techniques and ideas to express the human condition, scale, and intense visual interest.  Join us for this special evening merging art history and studio practices.
