This class is not recommended for beginners or children. The focus will be on Contemporary Art and Art History with a mix that includes African American artists.
“Mixed Media” encompasses a large swath of art making practices. Abstract painting, assemblage, figurative painting, landscape, drawing, sculpture, illustration, collage, installation. As an instructor I consider myself all of these things. Anything goes! Ambitious experimentation with materials and subject matter are encouraged. Weekly critiques of student work will be conducted, group discussions, and demonstrations when appropriate.
