Margaret McCann

Class Description

“Life Drawing and Composition” explores the rudiments of observational drawing and pictorial design. Measuring, proportion, planar structure, atmospheric perspective, light and shadow, and basic anatomy will be explored through exercises, lectures, and critiques. Coherent and creative composition will be addressed as both smart design and an intuitive process. Master drawing solutions to the mediation of 2D, abstract pattern on the surface, and 3D spatial illusion moving beyond the picture plane, will be analyzed. Students working at any level of proficiency are welcome.
