Using a less linear approach, this course will push beyond the purely academic, while stressing the uniqueness of each subject and encouraging the student’s individual expression. The class will encourage the development, through an open color palette, aspects of gestural and dynamic compositional design, body language and structural form. Individual critiques and extended demonstrations, along with side-by-side work studies, will offer students a clear overview throughout the process toward more authentic and compelling, finished works. Nude and portrait poses will generally last two to four weeks.
