Students will learn a step-by-step approach to developing the observational skills needed to create a likeness of the human form in clay. The teaching method will include, sculpting demonstrations, explanation of human anatomy structure, individual instruction, group critiques, as well as presentations of contemporary and old masters sculptors. A model will be present for each class session.
Gabriel Koren studied sculpture in both Hungary and Paris before moving to New York. She is the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Grant and a Gottlieb Foundation Grant, among others. Her public sculptures in NYC were commissioned by the NYC Department of Cultural Aff airs, the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, and the State of CT in Hartford CT.
