In this class, Bennett Vadnais will teach students how to paint architecture and cityscapes from life. While the logistical and artistic challenges are many, the payoff in terms of expanding visual knowledge and experience is well worth the effort. Vadnais will introduce a method of painting that is both flexible and efficient to help manage the lack of control that accompanies working in the elements in New York City. This class is ideal for those interested in plein-air painting and sketching in its own right as well as those who are building skills and source material to be used in creating studio pictures. The class will meet on location around NYC, rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we will work under cover or in extreme cases, interior spaces. A materials list will be provided. All levels of experience are welcome.
