Oil paint can seem like an intimi¬dating medium. Sure, the old masters used it—but so can you. In this workout you will get a chance to learn some of the ways oil paint can be used. We will work with an easy basic palette and have a great time exploring ways of having fun with the paint and becoming comfort¬able with it. A still life to work from will be provided but you can also work abstractly.
Anki King grew up in Norway. After completing her arts education in Oslo, she moved to NYC in 1994 and studied at The Art Students League until 1998. Anki exhibits frequently in Europe and in the US. Her work is included in private and public collections including the Appleton Museum of Art, FL. She has also exhibited at the Katonah Museum of Art, NY, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Tokyo, Japan and the National Gallery of Art, DR. She has lectured at NYU, The Appleton Museum and for many galleries, and taught art online at Sessions.edu. In 2010 she was the winner of the Artist of the Year Award in the London International Creative Competition (LICC). She is currently represented by Noosphere Arts, NY.
