This workshop will give you the confidence to get started expressing yourself in this wonderful medium. We will go over the basics; safety, the brands, the tubes and how to read them, different types of brushes, mediums and thinners. Several ways of using the paint will be demonstrated and tried out. Stretching a canvas and preparing the ground will also be covered. We will look at how to store the paint to make it last, and how to clean brushes. Common expressions like scumbling and glazing will be explained and we will look at some color theory for a complete introduction to painting in oils.
