Workshop held in basement stone studio

This workshop will address methods of casting and building using Aqua Resin. This non-toxic, environmentally green, lightweight but durable compound material can be used in sculpture, painting, installation and crafts. All materials will be provided. The class will cover the basics of: pattern making, mold making, mixing ratios, foam-coating, joining of disparate parts, and the painting/patina of finished work.

About the Instructor

Mr. Hardy received a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1968. He exhibited in the 1970 Information Show at the Museum of Modern Art, the 1972 Whitney Annual, and has a permanent outdoor sculpture installation in Soho. From 1992 to 2009 he was an adjunct faculty member teaching in the sculpture department at New York University. Mr. Hardy has been making sculptures using Aqua Resin for 20 years and has had five one-person exhibitions of works made exclusively of this material.
