Leonid Brener

Leonid Brener received an M.F.A. in Decorative Arts and Sculpture from the Stroganov Institute of Fine Arts and Design, Moscow, Russia.

Mr. Brener has received numerous awards for his work, including those for the Medal Design Competition, Paris, France, and the Decorative Sculpture Competition for the design of the exterior of the Moscow Museum of Musical Culture, Moscow, Russia.

Mr. Brener’s sculptures have been installed in cities throughout the United States, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. His work is included in private and public collections in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Washington, D.C. He was one of the co-creators of the St. Anthony sculpture on the facade of the Shrine Church of St. Anthony of Padua on Houston Street in New York City. His portrait of Aleksandr Pushkin is in the collection of the Russian Cultural Center of the Russian Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Brener has taught drawing and sculpture at the New York Studio School, New York Educational Alliance, and the Sculpture Center in New York.
