Early in his career, he joined lectures and classes at the League, especially with Yasuo Kuniyoshi. In gratitude for that experience, he will return to the art school where America’s great artists have learned and taught since 1875. Mr. Thiebaud is in New York for the opening of his drawing exhibition at the Morgan Library featuring the foundations of his work, one of the most iconic and personal expressions in the history of American art.
