Anthony Antonios
Sculpture and Drawing

Anthony Antoniosâ sculpture and drawing classes are an exploration of human form through modeling in clay or through drawing. They include anatomy, form, concepts, proportion, structure, composition and design.

"My approach to sculpture has always been from the inside out as well as the outside in; inside out being the form concepts that are the result of anatomy and outside in being a broader reduction of those forms to abstract design. And this understanding helps me teach figure drawing, the only difference being drawing skills as opposed to sculpture skills."

There will be individual criticism as well as demonstrations and lectures on the human figure.

Mr. Antonios was born in New York City and attended the High School of Art and Design. He studied at Pratt Institute, the City College of New York, the Art Students League and the National Academy of Design. His teachers included Robert Beverly Hale, Robert Brackman and Evangelos Frudakis.

He has done commissions for the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the White Plains Memorial Hospital, the Merchant Marine Captainsâ Headquarters in Washington, D.C., and the Honeywell Corporation.

His work has appeared in Grand Central Galleries, Five Points Gallery, Brookgreen Gardens and the Fleischer Museum, among others. He has won many awards and is also a Fellow of the National Sculpture Society.
