In January 2012, the Elizabeth V. Sullivan Gallery at the Art Students League's Vytlacil Campus in Sparkill, N.Y. reopens as a dedicated exhibition space.
Three exhibitions are currently lined up, beginning January 8 with works by Vaclav Vytlacil, the American modernist painter and League instructor who donated the estate that now serves as the Vytlacil Campus; followed by an exhibition on Vincent Capraro in March, and the Vytlacil Resident Alumni Show in May.
Future gallery exhibitions will show a broad range of established artists, including modern masters from the League’s Permanent Collection, current faculty, and guest artists. These exhibitions serve to educate and enlighten; as an art experience, they broaden the viewer’s understanding of the art making process.
The Vytlacil E.V. Sullivan Gallery will host six shows per year, representing the very best in fine arts in all media.
