Instructors at The Art Students League are internationally recognized, professional artists. Instructors are present in their studios for critiques and discussions twice a week in normally scheduled, full-time classes, or as otherwise specified in the schedule of classes.

The League does not presume to dictate a point of view to its instructors and makes no pronouncements about art. Instead, it ensures that different points of view in contemporary culture are represented. Therefore, instructors develop their own methods and ideas without interference from the administration.
Our method of instruction allows individuals to learn at their own pace from prominent artists who have a range of artistic philosophies and approaches - and from colleagues.
